With Windows 7 end of support coming on January 14, 2020, upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 10 is quickly becoming an urgent matter.

Personally, I am going to find a legit copy of Windows 8.1. That will buy me another three years of support. I won't go on my Win10 rant again, but unless M$ fixes the messes updating W10 creates, I will postpone upgrading to it for as long as I can.

I would love to dump Windows and move to Linux, but I have too many apps that rely on the Windows architecture.

I thought there was still a way to configure Windows 10 updates to download but notify and not install, or to notify they are available and not download or install.

I got a new laptop last week so will try this tonight:

I think it all depends on if you have Home or Pro, and what build: 1703, 1709, 1803, 1809... M$ really wants people to update Win10.
