Does Mountaineer have a quota to meet for gate scratches?

This is just getting stupid with them anymore.. I thought Sam Houston was the king of delays with late rider changes, but Mnr takes the cake with these scratches..

You are so correct. Mnr is the undisputed heavyweight champeen of the 10-20 minute delay. I have never seen another track that is remotely close to Mnr when it comes to last-minute jockey changes. Indeed, it has reached ridiculous proportions.

I think in most races almost half the field is hurting, patched up or crippled. Jocks saddle up, get on the track and warm their mounts up. They feel something is wrong underneath them and beg off the mount. I would too.

I just wonder why it takes you the time in the paddock, the post parade and 12 minutes of galloping to figure this out..

Possibly..

I always wondered if the tracks did it on purpose sometimes to fatten the pools.. I wonder how much more $$ flows in during these 'delays'..
