Golden Gate turf races

I check the weather and there is no rain yet Golden Gate is always taking races off the turf. Has it been that rainy there or are they being cheap by not taking care of the Turf course much like the Fairgrounds was doing several years ago?

I wonder if having a synthetic main track affects these decisions any. Turf/synthetic is an easier move than turf/dirt.

Off and on rain, cool weather and lack of wind or sun so the course is still a bit of a bog.

It has been very cold up here, and some days, there isn't any sunlight until about an hour before sunset. I live about 20 miles south of Golden Gate Fields, and the weather is abnormally-colder than usual. I have to scrape off ice from my car every morning since we had all that storm activity. More rain is on the way this weekend.
