I don't have the energy this week to engage in a flame war about Netcapper vs other software programs, but IMHO the demo on the Netcapper program and the Netcapper spot plays is worth checking out. :)

I don't recall any negative stuff about Netcapper. Its the one software program out there that intrigues me a bit.

BETO,

Is the spot play a stand alone software.

No-the spot plays are a feature of the program that can be used or ignored-any regestered user can create a spot play of their own preference and there are a LOT of them currently offered with new ones added every week or so.

I have a question for users of Netcapper:

I'm not thrilled about the handicapping interface---it's a matter of my personal preferences, not the fault of the program---but I'm very curious about the spot play feature of it. I see a lot of spot plays in the demo with various users contributing. Is the spot play feature built up with a community database that people share, or is it up to the user to build his or her own database?

The spot plays are a free option of the program. Each user creates his own database and to some extent the spot play results are a reflection of that data base. :)

Even though I do not use it--I know several who do and Netcapper is a very good program. Gordon Pine, one of the smartest guys to come down the pike in the horse handicapping business, put this together and it is on his website of course.

I should point out that the "spot plays" that he is creating for his program are very interesting because as I understand it, you have the ability to make your own if you create your own database.

But, on another note, Gordon also created a program to track your wagers and be able to do all sorts of queries to find out where you are weak and where you are strong. And, it is track specific, type of race, age, sex, distance etc.

You know it as Bettor Keep Track!!!! It has helped me almost double my profits in the 2 plus years I have been using it. In the beginning of my use of it--I concentrated on Calder, my home track--and was able to confirm and find out things I did not know about my plays there. What resulted was that I have not played a turf race there in almost two years--do not play routes and do not play two year olds in my regular handicapping at Calder. I have a specific software program that is only used for CRC.

By finding out strengths and weaknesses, I have almost tripled my results at CRC, although I do not get a lot of plays here anymore--but the ROI has gone way up.

So, I'm suggesting that anyone looking into Netcapper--when you are on that site of Gordon Pine--do not overlook Bettor Keep Track--it is worth its weight(lol) in gold. It's software--does not weigh anything--you will make your investment over and over and over if you use it properly.

I just wish he would update it so you could input your wagers automatically instead of manually!!!

All the best,

CapperLou

P.S. Again, even though I do not use his program--Gordon Pine is one of the few straight shooters in the software business.

I use All in One #6 and one of the best features is the Phantom Wager.

It automatically places a $2 wager on every horse and then tracks results in % and ROI in about 75 different catagories

You can also enter your own wagers

You can find some nice plays for example at SA:

C50 dirt 42% win 1.37roi
MC40 dirt 43% win 1.62 roi

I also suggested that AIO use a Netcapper type spot play system and have a user controllled interface so I could input my own spot plays.

Sometime in the near future a version of Bettor Keep Track will be added to Netcapper. It's pretty cool, menu driven-click the track-race number-amount bet-type bet and horses # and that's it. When you download the results it creates the BKT reports. :)
