I see the Fresno Fair races are wrapping up this Sunday, and currently they have a fairly substantial carryover pot in their pick 6 & super high 5. Does anyone know if the pools are all required to pay out in their entirety on the 14th? I'm confused because the meet started with carry pools in each wager that were much higher than the first day's handle, so not sure where this came from, any insight on that as well?

Pretty sure they roll over to the next fair. They've been confusing the public about this for a few years now. Lot's of people think closing day is a mandatory payout day when it is not.

How have they been confusing people (assuming they can read)? Second goog result says they carryover until the final day of the fair circuit.

The confusion started last year on closing day at Pleasanton. I had a big ticket mapped out after studying for hours. I was watching TVG and I heard Simon say something about the carryover wasn't a mandatory payout. This was right on the heels of the BS Golden Gate Fields pulled a few weeks earlier with their huge p6 carryover on closing day. Ironically the carryover was hit on opening day at Sacramento, which was the next day of racing on the Nor Cal Fairs. I guess it gave Juan and all his buddies plenty of time to orchestrate a proper game plan.

I went back and checked the charts from opening day at Sacramento in 2017 and it should be noted that Juan Hernandez didn't ride that day.

To those of us not familiar with the fair circuit, can you advise if this Sunday is indeed the final day?

Live racing returns to GGF next Thursday. The fair circuit ends Sunday with Fresno's card.

Mandatory payouts on Sunday for all pools.

The fairs had carryovers from meet to meet(note Santa Rosa was not part of the California Fair Circuit)

This is from the CARF website, although not updated for 2018 it should be in place

Wagers
** Per California Horse Racing Board approval, all 2016 CARF-member fairs (Pleasanton, Sacramento, Ferndale, Pleasanton Fall and Fresno) will operate as a single combined fair race meet. Carryover pools will no longer have mandatory payouts at the conclusion of individual fair meets. All 2016 CARF member fair carryovers will have a mandatory payout on the last day of the fair circuit (Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016).**

Substitute October 14, 2018 for the date above.

Thank you. Thought I saw some mention this year of fair meets being changed so just wanted to make sure this was the end for the year, since all I saw was that outdated 2016 info as well.
