Picks for Belmont Sunday:
R1 #4 Just Gabi-Last one was a good prep, should be set today. I think this distance suits this runner.
R2 #1a Nimble Wit-Ran his best races at BEL. Wasn’t beat all that bad in a big field in last, should be a big part of the pace picture.
R3 #5 Macao-Longer distance should help him, barn does well with this move.
R4 #7 Hottentot-Battled on the pace in a race that was dominated by closers last time. Ran well routing on the turf earlier this year and late last year. Expecting a better effort today.
R5 #1 Honoring Carolyn-Fared the best out of the runners he dueled with last time out. Gets the rail today, may establish a clear lead here.
R6 Pass-Another low priced Frankel runner.
R7 #6 Mass Media-Probably not presevered with last time out. Best effort can compete with these.
R8 #4 Lady Libby-Has run well since trying turf, she should get the pace she needs for her closing kick at a price.
R9 #6 Torrestrella-Proven group winner overseas. Nakatani in for the ride, tough to go against.
R10 #5 Scenic Wonder-Comes east into a decent barn. Shows some DMR works, so Baffert most likely brought him up to the races rather than Reeder. Showed ability last year, should compete with this field.
