The thing about Balin is that in the 60's he was almost an afterthought in the Airplane, it was Grace Slick and Paul Kanter's baby.He left for a few years and when they reformed as Jefferson Starship in the mid 70's, Balin did most of the lead vocals on hits like "Miracles" and "Runaway".Nice , effortless singing voice. :rip: Marty Balin

After wearing out my Surrealistic Pillow record, I bought After Bathing at Baxters. Not an album full of great music, but it did have one of my very favorite JA songs - the Ballad of You, and Me and Pooneil

I can say they influenced my musical taste a lot. I still love psychedelia.

I remember going to the intersection of Haight and Ashbury in the early 70's. Definitely a "holy shit" moment for me. Last time I was there it was just another intersection.
