G.W. Bush praised the Medicare program the republicans had passed as being good for seniors. Of course we all know the real benificiaries of this bill are the insurance companys and the pharmaceutical firms. Then to top it off Medicare announces biggest increase in premiums in it's history. Please don't do us any more favors dubya, your kindness is putting us in the poorhouse.

There you go again. The annual Medicare Part B insurance premium adjustment formula was passed by Congress many years ago and in fact lying John Kerry voted for the formula. President George Bush has nothing to do with it.

If you bothers you too much why don't you buy an extra $2 win ticket every now and then and give the winnings to a poor old person to help cover the extra 11 bucks they have to pay for excellant health care.

Quit picking my pocket.

The truth is out there...some people have a real problem with it, though. And he is lying when he says "we all know" because we do not all agree with that. His little dreams get in the way of reality.

There are more problems with that piece of legislation than what the Dems point out. It is a crap piece of legislation and it was dictated by the AARP, and AARP left a large group of their own members out in the cold on this one. Bush should have vetoed it.

It is a disappointment to me that he went along on that one. If that bill would have come up in 2005 he would have opposed it. A second term president doesn't have to worry about groups like the AARP.

Damn Jr,
This may be a first. And will most likely be the last.
I agree with you.

ljb, unfortunate for you, you wrapped two issues into one statement:

1. Prescription drugs for elderly
2. Increase in Medicare Part B insurance premium

Like I said, President Bush has nothing to due with Part B increase. Enough said, and no debate on that issue.

As far as prescription drugs for elderly bill, I think it is a crock of sh*t and I can't believe Bush would sign it. Nothing but money in the pockets for big drug companies and there has to be a better answer.

At one time I thought Bush was an idiot for blocking the purchase of drugs from Canada. That at one point seem to make sense to me.

Then I started to get all these G**damn emails(spam I think they are called)about buying Viagra and Valium and all that crap on the internet. Then it dawned on me that old folks would probably be the shells of huge rip off con games if they were buying drugs on the internet ir from foreign sources not under some sort of controls.

Anyway, lying John Kerry comes out for buying drugs from Canada and I realize he is just doing that because it is anti-what Bush is promoting.

What a shame the whole damn thing is.

I can't for the life of me believe that the DemLibs couldn't find a better man to run against George Bush. Dean or Kerry, give us a break, Liberman could run circles around both of them.

Please believe me when I say this, I would have more than welcomed a challenger to George Bush and would have voted for a Dem that came up with a better plan for our country.
Hey, George Bush is not the brightest bulb on the tree, I know it, you know it, and the whole world knows it.

What choice have you guys given us? No choice. Bush wins hands down.

Nope, and I too think Bush was a complete idiot for not vetoing it. He was plainly wrong and this is one of the stupidist things he has done in office. His father, too made a catastrophic blunder by listening ot the dems and raising taxes. Talking to dems is like changing the toner cartridg ein a copier...now matter how careful you are, you are going to get dirty and look like a fool.

(Note" POS applies to lying about air quality at ground zero, idiot
is more appropriate for stupid economic moves. Some out there live for this stuff).

Liberman would have made an interesting choice. I would be looking very carefully at him. I think he would have had a good shot without that pine tree Gore saddling him down with Clinton baggage. Dems just don't have clue. They needed a war hearo becasue they always look like powder puffs on defense and this year, defense is on everyone's mind. Then Lurch goes and turns a spotlight on his past and Bingo! W looks pretty good.
hehehe....dems: ya can't live with them, ya can't live with them.

Like the squeals about Medicare costs, here is another typical example of Demlib nonsense: "Are You Subsidizing Tax Breaks For The Rich?"
http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/Taxes/P94070.asp

The real issue is the outrageous maximum standard deduction supported by the DemLibs. After the election, let's hope Bush can pass legislation to drop the maximum deduction back down to a reasonable level, like a reduction from $9,800 to $5,800. Maybe this rollback could even be bundled with a reduction to the maximum tax rates on ordinary income!

My original post was in reference to G.W. Bush's comment at the convention. Where he bragged about how they were taking care of seniors medical concerns. I must repeat:
Please stop helping me Mr. President, I cannot afford anymore of your help!

His three + year record as Commander and Chief vs Kerry's four month tours as a target and then traitor to the troops?
You are right, there is no comparison. Kerry belongs in jail.

I'm one of Terry's idiots. I have Va health care and will not care about Kerry's unless I get a rice wound in the butt.
Congrats on being able to spell "W" without a "W"!
BTW, I helped a skier back into the boat this weekend. Do I get a bronze star?
