When is Flores going to come out on Runaton Tonz and lead the post parade?

This meet is considered a Fair meet even though there is no fair. This allows them to charge significantly higher takeout rates. Check HANA track ratings for details but pretty sure WPS goes from 15.43% to 16.77% :mad:

I bet lots of races but only $5 or $6 per race.

Yesterday I handicapped Los Alamitos and went to Sam Houston to bet some races.

I tried to bet $1 exactas and 50¢ trifectas using my key horse over three others, but Los Alamitos wouldn't accept my bets.

Needless to say, I will no longer waste my time handicapping that track.

Question for anyone who knows.
When a horse races at Los Al T-Bred day races it is indicated by LRC, in the PP's.
Yet, all of the works are listed as LA, the symbol for the Los Al T-Bred races run at night during the Quarter Horse card.

I am guessing the works are on the one mile T-Bred surface, and not the 5/8 night course. Just curious why they arent the same. I guessed they are on the one mile course as there are some 5F works in 59 and change that I dont think would be seen with a 2 turn 5F workout.

Anybody know what the rule is concerning suspending show betting at LosAl? I've noticed it numerous times this meet, and just watched a replay from 01Dec2017, 1st race where there was no show betting..........with a 7 horse field.

I've noticed it numerous times this meet, and just watched a replay from 01Dec2017, 1st race where there was no show betting..........with a 7 horse field.this game gets tougher and tougher by the day. the tracks and adw's do not want you to bet on negative breakage. yet at the same time, they all want you to pay the breakage they charge. negative breakage to the place that accepts the wager means that they are responsible for the minimum payoff to the player and the takeout to the track that runs the race. for example, if Lone Star park accepts a $100,000 negative pool wager, it could cost them as much as $20,000 out of their pocket. multiply that out times the amount of times this may happen and it would amount to be a whole bunch of money.

what they don't tell you is how much you are paying them in normal breakage, which is supposed to cover their potential losses in a negative pool. if that's not bad enough, you lose more money to the crw and after the bell players.

prior to the 1990's, if you wanted to bet on horses that were not at your home town track, you would either have to travel to that track or bet with bookmakers, legal or in Nevada, that didn't have to accept your wager. simulcasting and adw's have made it easier for you to bet horses all over the world and get paid right after the race. that's the good part, the bad is that you are paying dearly for that, enough that its basically impossible to overcome all the obstacles involved in betting horses. horseracing is a gambling game, to many people have figured out that they get a better bang for their money with other forms of gambling like casino's and slot machines, even though there is no form to those types of gambling.

So, what is it about Los Alamitos that has it cancelling show betting whenever there is even a whiff of a minus pool? It was especially stark last Saturday when the six-horse Beverly J. Lewis Stakes had no show betting. Actually, if you go back to the Summer meeting, they did it with another six-horse field.

Saturday’s card has three five-horse races and only one of them has show wagering. On Friday, there were two five-horse fields and they had show bets on only one of them.

In its Summer meeting, Los Al cancelled show bets in six races. Three were understandable because there were only four horses. Two of them had five and then there was the aforementioned six-horse race. You’re going to be surprised at who makes that decision.

None of this surprises me- Hialeah staged the "Chicken Flamingo" when Buckpasser ran (no PLACE betting), and there have even been betless exhibitions like Seabiscuit-Ligaroti in the past.

It is outrageous in one sense, but it helps to remember a gambling axiom- the house always wins. This is why if a slot machine puts up three 7's when it isn't supposed to, the casino won't pay off. It is why Phil Ivey lost his lawsuits over edge sorting. It is why if you card count, the casino doesn't let you play blackjack.

You can win as much as you can from other players, but they don't let you win money from the house.
