PaDerby G2 – super betting race, the field is very evenly matched and the potential for long priced horses is yummy.

(A’s) 4-8
(B’s) 1-7
(C’s) 2-3-5-9-12

I’ll be keying many of my wagers to the 4 and 8 and then again keying the 4 horse in different spots to my other contenders in the tri’s.

Good Luck

yeah the superfecta would have been nice but........

I've been waiting for this race since I looked at the PP's yesterday. Number 4 (love of money) caught my attention and I knew that I would be attacking this race. Hell that's why I started the thread :D :D

Hope you made a few biscuits today!

Dutrow's gamble pays off fabulously

Bill Denver/Equi-Photo
Love of Money, under Robby Albarado, goes wire to wire at 12-1 in the Pennsylvania Derby.
By DAVID GRENING
BENSALEM, Pa. - Despite the fact Love of Money had never raced around two turns or in a stakes race before, trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. thought enough of him entering Monday's $750,000 Pennsylvania Derby that he wagered $2,000 to win and place on the 12-1 shot.
Dutrow's confidence and wallet were rewarded when Love of Money went gate to wire over the heavily speed-favoring Philadelphia Park track to win the Grade 2 Pennsylvania Derby by 8 1/2 lengths. Pollard's Vision, who raced in second from the outset, finished second, one length ahead of Swingforthefences. Tapit, the 3-1 favorite, finished ninth in the 12-horse field.

Robby Albarado picked up the mount on Love of Money because the colt's regular rider, John Velazquez, was committed to Pollard's Vision for his main client, Todd Pletcher.

Love of Money and Pollard's Vision both broke well, but Velazquez was content to let Love of Money have the lead. Love of Money maintained a one-length lead through fractions of 23.63 seconds, 46.62, and 1:11.26 before opening up around the turn.

Though he drifted out late, Love of Money ($27.40) won easily and covered the 1 1/8 miles in 1:48.42 over a fast track.

"The way the track was carrying speed, I thought if I could get away good and I can get any kind of breather he's going to sprint home, and he did,'' Albarado said. "An eighth of a mile leaving the gate he put his ears up and he went to the half-mile pole like that; that's almost three-quarters of a mile just galloping, so I thought I'd have tons left.''

Dutrow, who trains Love of Money for Mace and Samantha Siegel, said the horse was delayed getting to the races because of a strained hind suspensory suffered as a 2-year-old. He didn't debut until June 12 when he won a six-furlong maiden race at Belmont. He was coming off a win in a seven-furlong entry-level allowance race on Aug. 12. Dutrow said he was heartened when he saw Society Selection win the 10-furlong Alabama after winning the seven-furlong Test earlier this summer at Saratoga.

"Sometimes horses really excel first time around two turns, and I knew my horse was just so good right now that we decided to take a chance,'' Dutrow said.

And in more ways than one, it paid off.

* Taittinger Rose ($3) came off the rail in deep stretch under Pat Day to dead-heat with the pacesetting Reforest ($3.40) in the $100,000 Pennsylvania Oaks.

* Smooth Maneuvers ($7.20) shook off an early pace challenge from Turquoise Bead and hung on to win the $75,000 Steve Van Buren Handicap by three-quarters of a length.

Good story Win, though you and I know many of these guys are wagering on their charges all the time. Hope you are feeling better – take care and be good to yourself.

Thanx Stu – looks like you were all around it, tough one. I was doing about four different things today so I passed on the WR as I only played the 3 Philly races I posted on.

Nice hit. I can't believe I didn't cash on the race. I got caught up in tris keying Love of Money and My Snooky's Boy. I'm convinced not only is Lion Heart a rat, but horses who finish close up behind him are also. 12-1 on Love of Money on a CLEAR lone speed Dutrow trainee was probably one of the 5 biggest overlays of the year.

From the Trentonian:

An ultra-confident Dutrow put his money where his mouth was yesterday, slapping down $2,000 to win and place on Love of Money, which netted him nearly $40,000 in cash, based on the colt’s $27.40 and $12.40 pari-mutuel prices.

I've seen a ton of guys who absolutely love a horse after the race and never have a $2 win ticket. I don't know but wasn't $27.40 enough for you! :)

Maybe you didn't have those thoughts before post-time or what really held you back. I think I'm just stating the obvious after reading your post.

It's a pet-peeve of mine when I hear guys yakking at the track -- sorry

This is one time where betting early burned me. I had some other obligations and could not see the race live. Never in a million years would I have guessed he would pay $27. Everybody knows about Dutrow. I figured 5-1 or so, tops.

Didn't Dutrow really hammer Offlee Wild in the Mass Cap? I have no problem w/a guy hammering his horse like that. Just as long as he doesn't hammer other horses and stiff his own.

Lets see -- horse has had 3 lifetime starts mdspwt and 2 alw races and now runs grade 2 race against horses that competed in the Triple Crown series. Didn't race until the middle of June of this year. 1st time running in any kind of stakes race, 1st time going 2 turns, 1st time routing, bred in Md, 12-1 ML, 12 horse field.

Yep the public just loves these kind of horses :) Wanna try again?

Here's what I said about the race at least 20 minutes before post-time.

(A’s) 4-8

I don't need to try again. I made myself clear. The public likes Dutrow, and the public likes horses off of monsterous wins. No reason in hell to think the horse would be 12-1. Who is the monster in that field? Snooky's Boy? Sorry. Pletcher's horse? He's ok but no world beater. He beat an Illinois Derby field that was basically void of speed. Grade 2s and Grade 3s for 3YOs are often a joke. Most of those horses running in those races this year will be classified allowance horses once they turn 4....or high priced claimers.

The fact he didn't start until June was a positive. He wasn't worn out from the Triple Crown grind or any of the preps. The only reason Johnny V didn't ride him was because Pletcher had a contender in the race. As for bred in Maryland, who cares? He wasn't running against MD breds so why would that make any difference?

Bottom line: the winning payoff was a shocker.

Only to you! Take a deep breath and review the payouts. Funny how your right and the rest of the world is wrong. Hell you didn't even cash a friggen ticket so dummy-up!

Your reasoning and remarks are highly flawed but then again I'm not here to teach you.

I'm done responding to your posts in this thread, knock yourself out.

Christ where do these guys come from?
