Call it the "snowflaking" of America.

In 1941 Ted Williams batted .406 and did not win the MVP. :bang:

Alydar will always have a special place in my memory. It was an honor to be there to see the great horse in action that day in his battle with Affirmed in the Belmont.
John Veitch, his trainer had a hilarious line when they asked him if Alydar was down over his narrow losses to Affirmed in the TC races. He said, "He hasn't said anything to me about it".
That piece of garbage who married his way into ownership of Calumet should burn in hell for having the horse's leg fractured for the insurance money. Even the judge who ruled on the case said he thought the guy was probably guilty but there just was not enough conclusive evidence to convict.

They don't make em like they use to. That Travers vs. Affirmed was one of the things that got me into this game. Secretariat ran 9 times as a 2yo. Winning an allowance, The Sanford, and Hopeful at Saratoga when it was a 4 week meet. 7/31, 8/16, 8/26 .
