Born July 27, 1999, in a dimly lit apartment, in the wee hours of the morning, the switch was flipped and the rest, as they say, is history.

Tom put this up the other day, but in case you've never seen it, here's how it looked back in 1999:

https://web.archive.org/web/19991013114726/http://paceadvantage.com:80/

Not much better today, right? :pound:

And here's what the message board looked like in its first incarnation:

https://web.archive.org/web/20000310135449/http://www.paceadvantage.com:80/cgi-bin/UltraBoard.pl

You can click on the links and see some of the topics, and even read some of the posts. Although I'm not certain if that will work for all threads or even most of them, but I just did pull up a thread from March of 2000.

Anyway, I just want to say, once again, THANK YOU to each and every one of you over the years that have made this place the king of horse racing message boards. Without ALL OF YOU, this place would not still be here.

You all are GREAT!

With much peace and love.

I'm happy for you because you have put your absolute soul into this board for all of these 19 years.

You have a year of planning. A whole year to plan the biggest gathering ever to celebrate the TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY. So, start thinking. :)

Thank you for all that you do. You are just the best!

Thanks so much for this forum!!! I rarely post, but look forward everyday to logging in and reading everyone's take on all things horseracing.

From a big fan of racing originally from about 1 mile from the back entrance of Keeneland Race Course. :)

It's your last year as a teenager.Pretty soon, you're going to have to move out of Mom's basement, get a REAL job and stop associating with those good-for-nothing horse racing hoodlums. :D

Congratulations:ThmbUp:and hopefully there'll be many, many more years.Unless Off Topic - General finally drives you around the bend.

I'd like to thank all the little people who have been involved to help me make this forum such a success. But I can't because I mostly did it all myself.

Congrats PA!

That's not true.

There were many notable players along the way...in fact, probably way too many to mention specifically because I'm sure I'll leave MANY people out.

Nowadays, there is cj, who is and has always been, THE MAN, and Track Collector who helps with contest scorings.

There was Jay Trotter back in the day who helped with contests, and that big ol' PaceAdvantage.com hockey jersey-type shirt giveaway. I still have some of those lying around. He also helped in getting the design of the present day PA logo.

There was BillW (who no longer comes here, but is still listed as a moderator). He helped moderate the board big time years ago. Buddha was also big time help as a mod and contest scorer. Haven't seen him in ages.

There were a LOT of people who without their help, this site might not have lived this long.

Then there were the cast of characters who kept everyone coming back for more.

Who can forget SUFF (now FUSS)...AND he made sure a lot of those earlier Saratoga get togethers were anything but boring! ;)

Grits, JustRalph, TOM, all the lunatics on off-topic from EVERY political persuasion...all the industry folks like the little guy, Vic Stauffer, Dave Schwartz, Jeff Platt, and all the guys and gals who don't use their real names, and all the other people I'm not naming who, when I read or hear their names, I'll smack my head and say "Oh Shit, can't believe I forgot to list him/her"

There are just way too many people to thank, actually.

Which is why I wrote, without ALL OF YOU, this place probably wouldn't still be here today.

THANK YOU ALL

Honored by the mention, even with the tint of shade included.

Here's a few of your mentions in one place. 15 years ago!!! Remember my TVG appearance where I pimped your website? You never paid my invoice!

The next Star Wars movie could have an opening with the charred ruins from the old flame wars of message boards past. This place brought it all together.

I got to hang out with BIG-ITM (Jack) at Sam Houston one afternoon and play simo horses. I made him call me a numbnut. It was a good day.

Congrats on the last 19 years PA!!

I stumbled back upon this place via a Google search and found some of my posts from 2005! Definitely looking to contribute once again and thank you for creating this board!

Also thank you for not deleting old user names. :headbanger: Don’t ask me how I remembered my password on the first guess, that’s like hitting a $100 horse.:coffee:
