As a T-bred player for most of my life, I'm having trouble adjusting to daily Harness play.
The reason is the short amount of time between races.
With the flats, there was always enough time to handicap between races.
Not with Standardbreds. For me anyway.
Watching, handicapping, and playing the North America Cup card was tough for me to do. Felt like I had to rush all night long.
The only time there was a good amount of time between races was leading up to the big race. All the other races were run so close to each other, you would think it was an ordinary weeknight card.
Instead of 15 races, I'd find it much more enjoyable if they cut the number of races to say - 12, and add 5 minutes more between races.
Especially for the big races with the best horses.
Why rush through a card? Let people have a little more time to make decisions.
I know people will say to handicap beforehand, but, this isn't always an option for me and probably a lot of other people who have jobs or something else to do before the races.
That's how I feel about it.
Love the game, and only have this one complaint.
