VIP Handicapping Contest #4 takes place on Saturday, May 5, 2018.
This contest is for VIP members only, and will be hosted in the VIP forum. If you don't see the VIP forum at the very top of the list of forums (http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/index.php), it means you're not registered as a VIP. VIP #4 $200 cash prize contest (payable via PayPal-only, $150 Win | $30 Place | $20 Show) will consist of ten North American races. The list of races will be posted by Thursday night, giving you plenty of time to come up with your winners.
Rules are as follows:
Ten races from tracks across North America.
Win/Place contest, with caps enforced for Win (14/1 cap) and Place (7/1 cap).
ONE PICK PER RACE. NO ALTERNATES. (For entries, if you put both halves ie. 1/1a, and one scratches, you'll get the other half. If you put only one part of the entry and it scratches, you'll get the post time favorite).
The person with the highest total Win+Place mutuel payouts (with caps enforced) will win. All scores will be based on $2 Win/Place mythical wagers on your pick in each race.
Picks must be posted in the designated thread on the VIP Forum PRIOR TO POST TIME OF THE FIRST CONTEST RACE. Only ONE POST per entry (this means put all of your picks into one and only one post). Any close calls will be decided by the timestamp on the contest entry and the "Off Time" on the Equibase official chart. The contest thread will be created when the list of races is released on Thursday, May 3.
EDITED contest entries need to be time stamped BEFORE POST TIME OF THE FIRST CONTEST RACE. Keep in mind there is a 15 minute time limit on editing of posts on this board, and you won't be able to edit your post after 15 minutes. Any contest entries that are marked edited AFTER post time of the first race will be considered VOID.
In the event a player's selection is scratched, the player will receive the favorite as determined by the official Equibase chart.
"Beat The Host" and get an extra $25. I will be playing in the contest as well, but of course won't be eligible for the cash prize. However, if you win, and you beat me in the process, you'll earn a $25 bonus on your winnings. Second and third-place finishers are not eligible for the bonus.
I will try and design a contest card that should allow for late scratches and changes to be known for all contest races prior to post time of the first contest race.
