Watched the first race of the season at Thistledown. #8 horse ran but was shown on the tote board as a scratch. (could have been running for purse money only but I never had an announcement of such). Then it took about 10 minutes to post the unofficial order of finish.

They did mention at about the third minute of 0mtp that it would run for purse only.

Thanks Russ, I thought so. Everytime I see Thistledown racing, I see advertisements for the JACK casino about every 30 seconds. Maybe this is a subliminal message to the few remaining fans of TDN racing......"You don't know JACK".

Maybe not, but I do know a business not ready to open the season for business when I see it.

Their toteboard wasn't working, so they pulled out a 1957 tote board taken from Park Jefferson, it only goes up to 8 runners, and #8 was burned out. They wouldn't have been able to get the thing to work at all if they hadn't been able to get hold of D. Wayne Lukas so they knew how to install the fuses. :bang:
