Wait... A tunnel between Mexico and the US instead of a wall around New Jersey?

I haven't figured out how to edit polls, should of had a tunnel from Mexico to NY/NJ option.

Will never use any of the tunnels in NY, I prefer to take the water taxi across the Hudson.

Yesterday I was in Sacramento and stopped for lunch at the In And Out Burger by the State Capital - and wouldn't you know it - I ran into Jerry Brown.

I started in on him about the exacta takeout at Santa Anita being too high.

But he cut me off and started in on me about the Bullet Train.

Turns out the high speed bullet train from LA to San Francisco is just phase 1.

Phase 2 is a high speed bullet train that starts in Tijuana, goes through a tunnel beneath The Wall - and then proceeds directly to San Francisco.

A wall in an area with very few areas with large populations is a much more straightforward project than building a tunnel under the water in a place that has some of the most expensive real estate in the world. You can safely bet that whatever the tunnel's estimate, it will eventually cost at least double that with significant scheduling delays.

It depends on how good a contract and who the contractor 'knows'. You are very generous, I would think 2-3 times as long and 3-5 times the accepted bid...

Please.

You expect us to believe that Jerry Brown would go out to lunch without a lobbyist paying for it? And at a place without a decent wine list? :faint:

Jerry only sipped the wine, he never swallowed it.

'I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in the bill) and the Border Wall, which is desperately needed
for National Defense, is not fully funded.'

If he doesn't veto it and this goes without border wall and DACA resolved Trump is a one and done.
