So this guy killed not one, not two, BUT THREE COPS, in two different cities, and is going to be walking the earth a free man....wow.

See, this is what I'm saying when I state liberal ideology has brought about the downfall of civilization.

The article says that the parole guidelines have been made more lenient. Translate: This is Affirmative Action policy designed to bring into greater balance the race-ethnicity population of the prison system . Make no mistake about this: This is more social engineering garbage. :coffee:

So, the 5 years probation that he got from California for murder was not harsh enough?

In any case he won't kill anyone else, he'll become a highly paid and sought after college professor and inspire others to continue the revolution.

So obviously this guy is being groomed for a run in 2020.
Those strong liberal values he has - hates cops, an 0bama boy.

NYS is a s-hole state, no debate.

Could be. This might be the Dem's poster boy of the century. They could bill him as the model Reformed Felon of the Century.

But just to let you know -- before I could vote for him I'd have to see his college scores. :coffee:

Cop killers should get the death penalty no questions asked.

One of the family of the slain offers agrees with the parole.

The son

"The decision to release Herman Bell (http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/black-liberation-army-member-convicted-deaths-parole-article-1.3874175), 70, in April followed a letter from Waverly Jones Jr., whose namesake dad was killed alongside his partner Joseph Piagentini in a May 21, 1971, ambush.
“The simple answer is (parole) would bring joy and peace as we have already forgiven Herman Bell publicly,” read the letter from Jones Jr.

“On the other hand, to deny him parole again would cause us pain, as we are reminded of the painful episode each time he appears before the board"

The widow:

"Bell was approved for parole on his eighth appearance before state officials — news that was greeted with good will by Officer Jones’ widow Mary."

“I’ve learned over the years that hate is a disease,” she told the Daily News from her home in Henrico, Va. “When you keep hate in your life, then your whole life is empty.

“I wasn't brought up to hate. I just feel that 45 years is a long time."

There are always two sides to a story.

The post only gives one side.

There must be a way that this decision can be overturned by the courts.
It is hard to believe that this was unanimous by the board.
I live in NY. This is totally embarrassing to see low life cop killers walking free in the streets. Disgusting display of cowardice by the governor and the rats that support him on this issue.

"The downfall of civilization."

Thats a little dramatic.

You disagree with giving this person parole.

Thats fine.

I happen to agree with you in this case.

But to get in such an outrage.

Better to focus that rage into something positive.

You know the pope forgave the person who shot him

Thats better than I would do.

He is a liberal.

The family can forgive all they want.
It is not for then we should execute him - it is for US.

Exactly right! Forgiveness by the survivors should not mitigate the penalty for a crime against society, most especially an egregious capital crime. When this guy was tried in court, it was the STATE v. Him -- not just the family survivors v. him. His crime was against all the fellow-members of his state.

When someone kills a cop, the family has no part in the whole thing. That is an attack on our safety - What they think is not important.

If they deserve forgiveness, they can plead their case directly to God, just before he sends them to Hell.
