One of the things that always interests me about the guy is that he can't talk but has probably one of the most well-known speaking voices in modern history. And it was all his.

Edited because when I read it I made it sound like today's voice synthesizers are better than they probably really are and the point was that those synthesizers will always be 'Hawking's voice'.
