Wow. Sounds like a bowl game more and more. Hard enought to say "Kentucky Derby sponsered by Yum Brands".

"We ran him in the Merlin's Muffler Shop Mile last time and he got wedged in at the start, but the Hardee's Classic is next month, so we'll see what we have after he runs there. We were hoping to get into the Hunt's Tomato Sauce Stakes come fall, or maybe the Green Giant Turf Mile..."

You may be right.

This reminds me though of a recent race out in CA that was a G1 or G2 named after the Mathis Brothers, if I'm remembering correctly.

Usually it's a Whittingham or Bob Lewis where I think all of us know who it is. Who are the Mathis Brothers?

If there has to be a sponsor on the title, "The Spiral presented by Jeff Ruby Steaks" would sound so much better.

At least Jeff Ruby is a good steak. Ruth Chris? I've never felt so robbed walking out of a restaurant.

Furniture store, they are the race sponsor. In a weird turn of events they have stores here in OKC and in SoCal, think that is it. Odd combination.
