Pelosi is still calling 1-2k bonuses crumbs.

DSW did the same today.....
Beats the hell out of Obama’s 40 bucks that they crowed about. See below

“ $40 Stories Across all 50 States

Cottonwood, Alabama: Marcia

$40 means no gas for the car. I live on $674 per month with a disabled son. Yes, you have increase the amount on an SSI check, but $40 is a lot. $5.00 is a lot. We are about to be out on the street. No Christmas tree this year. $40 does not even cover the water bill. No toys for my son this year. Only the essential clothing wrapped and Santa will have to leave them on the kitchen table.

Fairbanks, Alaska: Pamela

$40 is 10 gallons of heating oil when the temperatures in winter hover in the negative numbers for months.

Phoenix, Arizona: Joseph

The $40 dollar paycheck for my family helps pay for gasoline to put into the cars.We live from paycheck to paycheck. And with the price of gas being so high it helps a lot. I feel that the politicans that don't want to continue with the extra $40 dollars need to put themselves in our shoes. Sure, if I was a millonaire I wouldn't worry about gas prices or $40 dollars, but I'm not. And with the gas prices so high, so are other items. Every dollar helps. So please consider allowing the $40 dollars to remain. To you it might not add up to much but to my family it helps a lot.

Beebe, Arkansas: Paul

$40 a paycheck is the gas it costs me to travel back and forth from seminary each week, as there are none in my local area. While there (in Memphis) I also lead a community chess program for 4th and 5th grade students in an under-privileged community. I am a retired USAF veteran on a minimal enlisted retirement wage, struggling to get by while I finish my education. Please don't take away my opportunity for education, service and future development.

Denver, Colorado: Phillip

Currently I am working two jobs in addition to being a full time student. I work as a server at the Cheesecake Factory and as a peer mentor for the federal program known as TRiO Student Support Services. Forty dollars means quite a few different things for me; food, rent, various bills, and my ability to be able to support non-profit organizations that rely on donations. This last year even making less than 25,000.00 a year I donated monthly to Greenpeace, and made one time donations to PAWS, Casa, and the African Community Center. There is no way that I could have made these donations without an extra forty dollars a month.

New Britain, Connecticut: Rita

Forty dollars is a tank of gas, a nicer Sunday family meal instead of hot dogs, the ability to leave lights on instead of turning them off earlier in the evening. Forty dollars is being able to go to the movies, or having a night out at an inexpensive restaurant, it's also paying co-pays for my meds that I need to live on. Forty dollars is money for our heating oil, money put away in savings for a birthday present for a family member. Forty dollars buys lunch food to bring from home, forty dollars pays the cable bill, and the difference between healthy food and unhealthy food on our shopping list. Forty dollars is vacation savings, part of a car payment, a mortgage payment, or a phone bill. Need I go on with more examples of how $40 is used and needed?

New Castle, Delaware: Judy

$40.00 is: a loaf of bread $3.09, gallon of milk $3.79, eggs $2.79 dozen, cheese $4.00 lb., bag of rice $5.99, Cereal $4.99, coffee $14.99, fruit increased 25% this year, meats have also increase 30%, all due to economy. Not to mention the gas for our car, that $40.00 is strictly for GAS inflation to go to work, doctors, food shopping why can no one understand”

It goes on at the link.

I think I hear Mostie clapping with one hand. The other one is busily engaged on the keyboard desperately and frantically searching for talking points. :coffee:

$40 every two weeks is $1040 a year. How does $1000 beat the hell out of $1040? And that $40 every two weeks went to everyone, not just the employees of a couple of dozen companies.

because that was not a lower tax, just lowered withholding that had to be paid at end of year??

What else can Pelosi do? The D's are on total defense right now. All they can do is come out and snivel about anything that happens at this point. They are pretty much out of the game at this point.

Mostie has ignored a lot more that that! What he and other chest-pounding Obama brown-noses conveniently forgot to remind us of is that this was just another liberal smoke and mirror, sleight of hand trick. The government stole from Peter (the SS "trust fund" that is on critical life support) to gratify Paul now (American workers). All the government did was play a 2% shell game by giving money that was earmarked for SS to workers now. I'm sure a large percentage of the public had no idea that the Obama and Friends were screwing with their long term SS benefits. This was strictly a political stunt that would certainly dupe most brain-dead liberals. They would think they were getting something for nothing (which is classic leftist-socialist mentality, anyway) when in fact, they would pay the piper down the road when they get ready to retire. In their eyes the demwits were the party of doting, caring, loving nannies concerned about improving their living conditions in the here and now. Contrast that scam with the Trump tax cuts, which are actually bringing fresh new money into the economy at no one's expense -- well...except at the political expense of all the dems since none of them voted for it.

And we know it was a scam because after the payroll tax CUTS expired, they went back UP again to their previous rate. But libs will swear that there wasn't a payroll tax increase after they went up! :bang::bang: Well, loony libs here is a clue for you: If there was no payroll tax increase, then neither was there an antecedent decrease! As much as you dearly love to talk out of both sides of your mouth, you can't have it both ways, i.e. a payroll tax decrease but no payroll tax increase afterward.

Oh, add to that the curve ball Trump just threw at Dems. An offer to DACA 1.8 illegals. a pathway to citizenship Dems never expected. Trump wants to run the table in exchange. The Wall etc. etc. Now they are between a rock and a hard place to deny DACA they want so bad. What a move on part of Master Negotiator. Dems are stuck. Catch 22. I love it. I say Dems will rebuff the offer, Imo. and you know the consequences. Midterm elections will be fun to watch.

If they don't have that to hang over the heads of their loyal followers what do they have? If that is settled then they have nothing to run on. And they know it. They finally met their match with Trump. That's why the democratic leaders are so furious with Trump. He knows exactly what they are pulling and knows exactly how to bring it out in the open.

Exactly!
The dems do not have any platform at all.
All they are is DACA and Never Trump.
You cannot sustain that kind of fraud, especially with people getting the bigger pay checks, bonu check, and 401K statements.

Even democrat voters are not that stupid - they are catching on.
Most of them, anyway.
