He's one of the few jockeys who can raise his game, and ride his ass off above his baseline. He's aggressive and sometimes seems to be riding with a chip on his shoulder. Strong handling. Willing to race inside, or enter the turn behind horses before the opening has presented itself. Don't downgrade a horse with footwork issues when Saez is up.

Seems to do it in big meets. Maybe he's a money rider? Maybe it has something to do with premiere meets having races with multiple contenders, so he actually gets a contender to work with?
