Racing starts a little earlier tonight due to the pomp and ceremonies that will be performed between the Graded races. Post time is 11.25 et and 8.25 pt. Should be good night of racing and hopefully a profitable night too. Let the fun begin.

Not all that keen on the first, could probably make a case for at least 7 horses in there. They make these races a little tougher than a normal race day, owners want to run on the big day. Like the race #6 Lotus Strikes Back ran in his last going two turns at Sha Tin, but he hates to win. Just going to pay attention to the track.

:6: WS for me.

My audio is all screwed up--bad echo.

Some things change and some things don't, Moreira winning the first. Pace and final time right on par with the class. If I was Hall the trainer of #2 Victory Boys would only run him at 1 800 events. Too bad he will gain points in the handicap and have to move up to Class 2 unless he can get a 85 Class 3 race.

Making a key play on :5: Simply Brilliant, should benefit with a HK run even though it was at the valley. A smaller wager on the :7: Winston's Lad, top last speed figure and coming out of a key race. Q's are :5: with :2::3::7: and :10:.

That was a tough beat, took a little too long to get going on Simply Brilliant, may need to go further than 6 furlongs. Pace was on par and the final time was slow 2.3.

The chalk in here Nothingilikemore should be the winner, but his speed figures haven't been up to win at Class 1 yet. He was much the best in his last without ever being asked by Moreira, but I am going to make a small dutch play on a couple runners that have run fast enough to win at this level, :2:Giant Treasure (9-1) and :9: Southern Legend (23-1).

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, will take it though. Was screaming at the monitor down the stretch. Again pace and final time was right on par for the race, at the moment the variant is at +.6.

Have no idea in the 4th, with only 3 HK runners in here and I am totally ignorant to the rest of them to be totally honest.

Now that was very impressive, thought he was going to give it up at the top of the lane, started looking back to see who was going to close on him and looked back and he wasn't giving it up. Race's figure came back as a 117.9 fast 7.9, will go back over it a little closer, most likely will be guess on it eventually. May use a time from the 2 000 or 2 200 mark to make the final number.

Going to stick with :2: Lucky Bubbles in here in the Sprint, he has had two horrible trips this year. Also, going to make a small win wager on :10: D B Pin at 21-1.

Thought I had the chalk beat down the lane with the longshot D B Pin, but he never would get to his proper lead and just hung a little late. The winner Mr Stunning is pure class, Lucky Bubbles caught in on the rail with little room and still didn't have a proper kick late. Pace was quick and the final time was fast 3.8. The variant excluding the route race at the moment is: -.4

Are you playing a pic 3?

Unfortunately Twin Spires doesn't allow the Pick 3, hopefully they will soon.

They are POUNDING the first time starter in Hong Kong in :5: Lockheed, usually they are pretty right on in those situations, it creates this as a chaos race to me. Got a big number on the :6: Team Fortune (34-1) with a note that he refused to split in the stretch. :13: Fortune Booth (10-1) had enough trouble cross the race out in his last. :1: Wah May Baby (11-1) ran a number to this par on November 11th.

The favourite :5: Lockheed looks like a monster on the track

Lockheed looks like he needs a slower pace which he'll get when he goes longer. Impressive win by Wah May Friend (put in a wrong name, there is another horse on the grounds by the name of Wah May Baby and he's nowhere the class of Wah May Friend). Pace was average with the final time slow 2.7, the variant is still hanging around: 0.

Have no clue in the 7th the Mile, :11: Sichuan Dar (19-1) is on my watch list from 2 races back, was outclassed in his last and is most likely outclassed here.

Speed even kills on the turf (sometimes), even when he set quick early pace. Final time right at par.

Another chaos race with all the ship-ins, pulling for the local favourite Werther, not betting the race though. One of the best things about playing Hong Kong ALL of these top horses there are gelded, so they continue to run unlike here in the States horses like Mr Stunning and Werther would be rushed off to the breeding shed.

woodbinepmi

Purton slows it down and has enough to draw away from Werther when he was asked by Terry. Final time came back slow 2.9 in speed points.

Top last race speed figures with trip notes for the 9th:

:3: Calculation 101 Outrun by longshot that had a weight advantage, didn't change leads. Trouble trip in race before last.
:6: Affluence Start 101 Perfect trip but not fast enough, was not bet at windows.
:9: Diamond King 100 Wide trip outrun by the favourite who ran a 104.
:2: Spicy Sure 99 Was in form, outrun had the aid of a bias in his favour.
:11: Top Beautiful 98 Beaten by longshot, didn't switch to proper lead, was in top form.
:7: Play Wise 96 Not fast enough.

The best ride of the day by Purton in the 9th, he herded Bowman right into the back of a tiring Affluence Start and stopped all his momentum and got Spicy Sure clear at the right moment. Final time right on par.

Love 7-1 on :4: Citron Spirit, who finished a 1 1/4 to Fifty Fifty who would walk over this field.
:9: Rise High (7-1) is coming out of the famous Race 172, 4 horses have won out of that race with 2 more running second.

Couldn't catch the light weight who set a real slow early pace by Moreira. Fun night, glad the stakes races are out of the way back to the bread and butter. night
