Empire Line,a first time starter, won it a 5-2 from post 11,coming from 6-1 ML.He was strong in the stretch, blowing away the horse on the rail.
If you remember Albert George Illich,he said to follow these first time winning starters who weren't previously highly regarded. In the summer of 1977,I noticed one at Monmouth called Dr.Curtis.
The horse won a few,lost a few,then won a big purse at the Big M,paying $30.
So we'll see how this one does.
