Dont worry the Boss sent a memo to all the scouting staff.

As I type this the scouts are combing all the local crack houses

in the Bronx looking for talent.

I heard they're signing Danny Almonte.

But what are they gonna put on his baseball card where it says "age?" :D

Mussina's back, woohoo!!

4 IP, 5 hits, 4 ER, yet another HR allowed..

Yeah, they'll be just fine with that staff :-)

Apparently it hasn't taken long for Loaiza to work his way into Steinbrenner's dog house. Supposedly they're talking to Texas about shipping him there for minor leaguers.

And while we're on the subject of the Yanks pitching, their NL counterparts may have some problems of their own. Matt Morris, considered the "ace" of that staff has been downright dreadful in his last 5 starts or so. The Cards may be a lock to win their division, but they are no lock to go anywhere in the postseason.

And for salt in the wound, Contreras has pitched great since being traded...

El Duque - 6 IP, 5 ER..

Another fantastic outing by the staff :-)

...but better than Quantrill following him:

0 IP, 3 ER.. man will that hurt your ERA a bit..

Still, a win is a win....and we won....again....

Second best record in baseball (only 2 behind Cards)

All this with our pitching in disarray for much of the season. Scary to think what might happen if the staff actually pulls it together for a couple of weeks....

Scary to think how they are going to put 4 decent games together in a 7 game series :-)

Well, Lieber pitched a good game.. But Quantrill put it up their ass again..

I guess a loss is a loss..

It's tough not having a real contender to root for, isn't it?

Again PA, they all start 0-0..

When the Yanks gonna win a WS again? 3 years? 5 years??

Hell, at the rate we're going the past few days, maybe the Sox will win the division after all....

And that's a pretty silly question "when will the Yanks win the series again...3 years, 5 years?"

How very silly. Most teams would give their collective left nut to win a World Series every 3-5 years....LOL

PA, can you answer the question?

Is it this year?

PA, all bs aside, do y ou feel confident in the Yanks winning the World Series this year? Do you feel confident in their pitching?

Is it this year? How the hell should I know? I thought they had it in the bag against the Marlins and the Diamondbacks, but they lost those....so who knows?

Do I feel confident this year? Hell yes. Am I confident in their pitching? It's feast or famine with these guys. If Brown stays healthy, El Duque continues his amazing comeback, and Moose can pull it together, then yeah, I'm confident....LOL

It's tough this year to figure who has what..

I think the Yanks look good to get into the ALCS.. But to win 8 games in the playoffs might be a challenge with that pitching.

St Louis has so many weapons, they are going to be so tough to beat...

Minnesota is again the young team who could upset...

The Sox, if they can get in, are the best offense in the majors.. But their pitching is shaky sometimes...

This should be an interesting post season... I couldn't even guess who will be in the series.. If I had to choose one team that would be in the world series, I would have to go with St Louis.. Just for how dominating they have been.

PA, why do they keep pitching Loaiza??? It's time to say "Ok, we f-ed up bad, let's cut our losses"..

The Stein cannot be too pleased with the past week's revelations..
