With Pegram having some control you know he'll race some horses there. I wonder if Baffert will send a division over there.

I posted this at my other forum. Allow me to exercise some redundancy.
PICS: Mike Pegram's McDonald's / racing decorhttp://members.aol.com/browrob549/emo/eatdrink011.gif (http://xhardin.home.att.net/MISC/McDonaldsMarysville.htm)
http://members.aol.com/browrob549/emo/eatdrink028.gif It is with much interest to see this unique businessman run a racetrack.
Patiently awaiting to see what kind of ideas Mr. Pegram will implement.

It would have been far better had Churchill Downs ended up with the track.
The track is very poorly managed. . . everything (consessions, the web site, parking, condition book, tellers, OTBs) everywhere you turn- it's poorly managed.
And unfortunately, the slots going in will just extend the stay of bad management.
What probably happened is that Mike P. was given a good, sweetheart deal by the current poor management instead of the track taking the better offer from Churchill Downs.
Louisiana being the larcenous state that it is- the fans, players, jockeys, trainers- everyone- will not far as well as if CD took over the plant.
You can bet that some back room political moves kept the current slime in place, instead of a professional well run business like CD getting the nod at the wire.
