Anyone know if 7.5 furlong race is listed under short or long in condition index?

Is it possible different tracks list them differently?

(I have looked and cant corroborate)

thanks

Not sure what you are referring to but typically that would be considered short.

Hope that helps.

I wasn't sure either what condition index is, but on turf 7.5f is around two turns, and also at smaller track like Delta Downs. I personally consider it a route on turf

thanks for the replies, it looks like technically they are listed in the short column of the condition index. So for connections of a horse (me in this case) one has to scour the conditions written in the book to find all options for a route type.

If run around two turns consider it a route, one turn is a sprint. At Gulfstream consider it a mile and 1/16 race.

Delta writes 5f or 6 1/2 f, no 5.5s or 6f races. In the cond book they list the 6.5 and 7f races as sprints even though they are around 2 turns, but being a 3/4 mile track it has to be. They do not run 5.5 or 6f races as it puts the start too close to the first turn.

I know what you mean and they are listed as short in every book I've seen

I buy the Cynthia par books and they consider all 7.5f races as sprints.

I agree with them on dirt races but not turf. I consider 7.5f turf races run inside the mile dirt course a route.
