Two weeks?
Ban this POS for life - his clearly not fit to be near horses.

too bad the horse didn't punch back, as only horses can...

I saw Desormeaux beat a horse repeatedly with his whip -- after the wire --at Saratoga some years back.
Don't remember if he was even fined for it.
It was the last race of the meet and he lost the riding title by one win.
Glad the bum went to California.

This kind of behavior is almost always unproductive. I would have banned the joc for at least a year & demand that he complete a course on treating large animals before being allowed to ride again.

Steeplechase jockey Trevor McKenna got suspended for a year for punching his horse in the head after it refused at a jump on Maryland Hunt Cup day this year.

In an unrelated incident of gross stupidity on the very same day, his brother received a 1 year suspension for kicking a horse in the stomach on the way to the paddock, presumably since it was colicking and he did not want the horse to lay down. Which it eventually did, resulting in a scratch.

Then the two miscreants left both horses, including the one in distress, in their van so they could attend the after party.
