Agreed. East coast announcers are often misled by our paces. Durkin always sounded shocked when they went 21 4/5 in a sprint here. I was like "dude, 10,000 dollar claimers do that here".

NBC pays almost nothing for the BC. And the BC only gets a small cut of the interstate handle.

They make their money from stallion and foal fees and from the ticket and merchandise sales at the event.

If this weren't true they wouldn't care so much about site selection and holding it at SA and CD.
