Pretty impressive Baffert 2-year old firster winning at 7F today at SA. I am interested in what CJ figures the number for in this race.

The time was pretty legit I believe if the track has been as slow as all this week, horse was green as hell.

Hard to believe that the horse was 7/2 given Smith jumped off the chalk, the horse was named for a life long friend who just passed away and you dont do that with just any old horse.

Great post. Lugged in at the 1/8 pole and Mikey gave him two left handers to straighten him out. He opened up and his gallop out was also impressive.

Wow!!! I think this may be a key race for the finishes behind him. Don't see the 2nd and 3rd finisher not breaking their maidens next out.

Bumper pool in the stretch. Final time of 142 and almost 3 was a good race for all three horses on the wire.

Top 3 all look like talented horses, very green down the stretch.

Rename that race the Baffert Sandwich.

Rename that race the Baffert Sandwich.

It is a great example of how Los Al is a joke.

That race routinely drew big fields at Hollywood Park. We even had some shippers, such as Todd Pletcher's Violence. It was one of the more fun races on the California stakes schedule, and produced several TC race winners.

At Los Al it draws 5 horse fields with uncoupled Baffert entries.

yea, fields used to definitely have more runners, i would argue the top 3 in that race are very nice horses.

Did he win?

He initially finished second but the winner was DQ and placed 3rd.

Thanks. The fire has preoccupied my mind regarding racing so not watched any over the past few days.

Worked 7F today at SA in 123 and 4. Solomini worked 6F at SA in 111 and 2.

He looked really good. I really liked that workout. Solomoni looked poor.

I really like Restoring Hope for Baffert. What a nice horse. He looked like he was carrying some conditioning in his first two races. Baffert is racing him into shape.

I can't seem to get the hang of telling a good from a bad workout.
Can you tell what you liked and disliked and what to look for from those workouts. Thanks.

Solomini has been a mediocre work horse for months now when you see the visuals, wondering what he could become if he gets his head into the game in the morning. Check out Ahmed Zayat's tweet from March 4th about the work if you want some confirmation, quite the amusing description.
