The comments at Instapundit where I saw the link weren't so generous, Ralph. The whole idea of visiting stereotypical situations in order to challenge your own stereotypes seems like a bad premise from which to start.

It seems like since Nov 2016 there have been a few of these forays into the Forbidden Zones to see what these creatures that inhabit them really are. Kind of comical, kind of sad that cloistered media-types and opinion-makers are this ignorant of their own nation.
