After 83 consecutive months of positive job growth, the U.S. economy lost 33,000 jobs in September. I'm only surprised it didn't happen sooner.

We're going to hear; it's because of the hurricanes, it's because of tax reform, and it's fake news. It isn't. It's because Trump is a fool and his advisers are incompetent.

This will not be the last negative report.

For once, I'm going to agree with you, but for different reasons. Many more negative reports will string together, well into next year.

We shall see.

Trump's record for his first eight months (seven of which did not include hurricanes) is 139,000 jobs per month. For the eight months prior (under Obama) the average was 209,000 jobs per month.

Can’t wait for this response.......

Texas, which accounts for 10% of the U.S economy and Florida, 5%, we’re both basically shut down for a month.

Mostie, you're offbase on this one. FEMA money is all over the place down here and in TX. Huge bounce in the last quarter.

I personally collected on a FEMA claim, and I am using the money for professional tree service to come and take down an 80' pine that got uprooted, and is leaning on my neighbor's tree, and also some cleanup work.

Well if you take the cycle of Summer Jobs ending in Sept. and then add two hurricanes into the mix the number seems light. Trump must be doing better then expected 2nd quarter GDP 3.1... in 8 yrs of Obama only flirted with 2 but never got there.

But as they say Haters gonna Hate not matter what.

Coming from a person who is involved with the biggest losing government division of all time, is telling us about jobs. laziest people in the country work for the USPS. Nothing other than welfare for the lazy. Get rid of half the employees and make the others actually work, like the real world.

You're a little confused. Apparently you are comparing Trump's increase for one quarter with annual increases under Obama.

But even there you are wrong because Annual GDP growth exceeded 2% in four of eight years under Obama. And it exceeded 3% in eight quarters. Which is more than one.

As for the Summer jobs nonsense; how do you explain the fact that in four of the last six years of Obama's tenure there were positive job gains from August to September?

GDP growth under Obama was the worst in decades.
Obama’s best year, as far as growing the economy, was 2015 when it grew 2.6 percent from 2014 — after growing 2.4 percent that year from 2013 and a whooping 1.6 percent in 2016.

Trump will eclipse the best of those..

Obama's Fuzzy Math. But nice dodge though. I'm talking about the end of Seasonal Summer work. :coffee:

First, talking about "haters" is on the intellectual level of elementary school kids. I'm constantly surprised at the people who aren't too embarrassed to type out "haters gonna hate" and similar.

But I'm interested in hearing your evidence of "hate" against me. Is the charge just because I have a 180 view of the world from you?

Honestly, here in rural Viginia these small post offices seem to have one or the other extreme. Most have 1-3 employees inside at all times. The closest one has a lady I never catch working, always on the phone, like she tries to hide from the counter. She constantly complains about the weight of my packages even though they rarely exceed 1/2 the allowed weight of the flat rate box. Any question I ask is met simply with "I don't know." She also seems to close early and open late during the closed for lunch period.

The post office 4 miles further in the opposite direction is ran by a lady who is the exact opposite. Even if I apologize for a package on the heavy side she will wrestle it on the scale and say "Your fine, you could have put another 15 pounds in there." Questions are met with, "That isn't my area of knowledge, but if you wait I will call someone and get you an answer." She often leaves the door open during lunch shutdown and stays open late. Of the two contrasting post office employees the lazy one appears younger and a lot thinner. It is also well known among the local post offices one of them is a major black sheep, yet she has had her job for the half dozen years I lived here and always acted the same.
