GG turf form is sure doing well.

I dont think there is a ton of diff between the two circuits on turf.

that being said that horse had never run all that fast.

I bet the 7 of course.

I did use Morey's horse in the first on a P5 ticket, JH's horse did have a good fig in January at SA (this is a total redboard after the fact, before the fact I didn't see this, others looked sexier) and with normal improvement, these are 3yos... two great trainers...P5 will pay huge and with coulones and most important bankroll could have been had.

Its a tough game, I could see being alive with 4,7,8, would not have used the 6.

$1.00 PICK 5 5 OF 5 7/4/2/5/6 $702,515.70

I know this is nitpicking, but can someone help explain this to me - the pick 5 pool yesterday was $408,498 & there was only one winning ticket. With the 14% takeout this should be the simplest calculation possible, which would mean a 50c payout of $351,308 (.86*408,498) but the actual payout was $351,257. I know it's just $50 or so, but why do these discrepancies exist? Usually people give the exchange rate excuse when payouts don't seem to match pool totals, but not the case here, just wondering what minutiae might cause this difference?

Could it be the breakage?

Correct me if I am wrong, but if the winning ticket cost over $1,170 as a bet, then all of that moola would have been tax free under the new laws?

How could there be breakage if it's a single winning ticket? At most I think that would cause a discrepancy of 50 cents, not dollars.

You are correct on the taxable deal, although I guess you're supposed to say the winnings are now not W-2G reported or withheld, not that they're tax-free.
