Looked real good doing it. Probably gets a higher fig than the winner of the Awesome Again. (Not a total shocker, the older horses weren't much)

That 2 year old will be hard to handle in the Breeders Cup. He looked real well.

seems about right compared to what I thought about it visualy.

While the Baffert horse won he certainly was not powering home in any real fashion that suggest he was winning easy.

Moonshine Memories just isnt a two turn horse to me against elite horses.

The fillies across the country seem just as weak as last year.

There was a time when the 2yo fillies always seemed faster than the colts. Those days now seem long gone.

.

It was her 3rd lifetime start and her first around two turns....not to mention it was September of her 2 year old year. A bit early to decide that, no?

Maybe but she is not built like a router.

She is classy so I am sure she will be competitive.

That time for Mubtaahij seemed glacial for SA

Definitely subpar for a G1 as the figure indicates. The times have been slow at Santa Anita this meet, almost Del Mar like.

This is interesting. CJ, if you don’t mind, what were your figures for the 2,3,4?

I'll post an image once they are in our charts. I've uploaded, but they aren't showing yet.

Here is the chart. Running lines are in past performance format. It shows all runners, their speed figure in the Frontrunner, and the two most recent speed figures to the right.

Good job, cj. You guys had Texas Wedge as 10 points slower than the favorites coming in. Beyer had him as the top figure, faster than Bolt D'Oro or Zatter. Your figures were better.

Thanks CJ -tough to get a read on this race. Looked really impressive live and replay and the figures seem to back that up. But Beyer does make a good point about the also rans -they could not have improved that much.

I would counter they are 2yos going long for the first time, and that it is very possible the earlier figures could be too low.
