Yup, as opposed to an Obamination-type globalist.

Obama at the UN -- apologizing for America.
Trump at the UN -- defining socialism as evil; telling Rocket Man that he is on a suicide mission and that we will destroy North Korea, if necessary. Much more.

Greatest UN speech by an American President-- ever!!

I really liked the part where the mature adult in the room started assigning nicknames. What a burn!!!

I know this board is mostly his audience but...seriously? The President of the United States? In front of the entire world?

Speak bigly and carry an ugly schtick.

Going to England next summer. Not looking forward to explaining this away.

This country decided what standard it was comfortable with when they elected this pustule president.

But that was a minority of the voters, remember?

The majority decided that the standard should be a whiny, shrill harpy who blames everyone but herself for her self-inflicted problems.

The more I see of the aftermath of battle, the more confident I am that I made the right decision in opting for none of the above.

You guys are hilarious...

GROWN UPS got us into Iraq (and I was one of them that supported it). GROWN UPS got us into the housing crisis of 2008. GROWN UPS are having sex with kids (in church, in school, you name it). GROWN UPS are setting cars on fire and kicking in store windows because they don't like the way some people think. I can go on...

Some of you are freakin' hilarious...

This is 2017. What Trump does is tame by comparison to the many EPIC FAILS that GROWN UPS have been responsible for lately...

"You guys"? I speak only for myself.

All of your examples show very bad judgement or bad actions. None of that excuses bad judgement by Trump. Trump wasn't that bad? So what? The fact remains that he is the president of the US and he acted childishly. Arguing about degrees of inappropriate behavior is pointless, especially for a president.

Americans have every right to talk down to the rest of the world and in any terms he wants to use.

The rest of the world is FUBAR and it’s all their own fault. He should pull out of the crap heap that is the UN and see how they feel when we toss them off our shores and keep our money. That UN building could bring some nice rents

Europe has given away their countries to despicable murdering cultist bastards. Their economies are shit and the streets are full of welfare sucking refugees. Their home grown young people have no future and beg to leave. They are all broke!

Obama and those before him stood around while Iran and others gave speeches about how America was an imperialist tyrant and the biggest problem with the world. Then they took to the podium and tried to play nice.

NOT TRUMP! Good for him!!!

How about unemployment in Spain? France? Huge numbers.

Amazingly once you get beyond the childish ramblings that his followers so ardently love he called for a much stronger multi-national body which largely flies in the face of his campaign promises and MAGA stance.

Aside from that most here is still just the norm. More deflections and using past poor performance for acceptance of current poor performance.

Bannon and Company are gone, the GOP establishment is gone, and Kelly is controlling access to the Oval Office. Trump is highly influence by whoever he talked to last, and more and more, that is someone moderate if not liberal.

What poor performance? We might be able to justifiably criticize Trump for some things, but poor performance isn't one of them. The economic indicators say the exact opposite, and the failures to date have been the failures of the Republicans, not him.

Ok, so he's calling Un "Rocket Man". I'll agree that it seems un-Presidential to do so, particularly on that stage. But I do wonder if these things that we may not like him doing actually works. Public ridicule of a bully can be a good tactic.

As a Trump voter I can tell you that I didn't care about whether we actually were part of an international body but instead that if we were, that it work for us better and not have us always shoulder the financial and military (and human) cost. He's trying to improve that, and that's good by me.

That one may not be directed at you. A large amount of people on here though immediately deflect away from all the idiotic things Trump says by pointing out what others have done. It's common. Just see the grown up discussion.

It also largely misses the point. Left-leaning posters on here that method works but with true conservatives who don't like Trump the posters on here don't know how to deal with them. Pointing out how bad Hillary would have been, how bad Obama was, how <insert whatever>, doesn't really work when we were critical of them as well.

To your first point. I didn't give Obama credit for the economy and I'm not giving it to Trump. Its a by-product of the key heads of the US government having a (R) next to their name.

Ok, so he's calling Un "Rocket Man". I'll agree that it seems un-Presidential to do so, particularly on that stage. But I do wonder if these things that we may not like him doing actually works. Public ridicule of a bully can be a good tactic.

I may be wrong and Trump may in fact be "brilliant." But political brinkmanship has been around a long time and he's not smarter than the ordinary natural response to such tirades. They inevitably lead to war. A war the American people, our allies, the world, and even his cabinet doesn't want. The actions of the international community right now are more a panicked reaction to Trump than to North Korea because at every turn he escalates it. That's quite clear.

As a Trump voter I can tell you that I didn't care about whether we actually were part of an international body but instead that if we were, that it work for us better and not have us always shoulder the financial and military (and human) cost. He's trying to improve that, and that's good by me.

This is Trump "doublespeak." It works because he says one thing to appease his base, "greatest UN speech ever" was said on here by some of his fanatics. While at the same time calling for a strengthening of a body those said fanatics can't stand. They latch onto the "communism and socialism are evil" and "rocket man" while completely ignoring his calling for a much stronger UN.

Finally, its awfully hard to lead by walking away.

Funny, the leader of Israel aligning himself with a well known White Supremacist/Nazi...what's this world coming to?

And therein lies my point. The absolute ABSURDITY of the anti-Trump movement and what they say about him completely destroys ANY and ALL rational discussion about the man and his presidency.
