Sad to hear of her passing...she always seemed to be one of the great ambassadors of the sport...and what a blessing to have horses like Riva Ridge and Secretariat in back to back years!

Rest in peace.

That sloppy Preakness may have cost her back to back triple crowns

I agree!!! Her absolute exuberance and love of horse racing is the reason I became a fan. RIP Penny.

I didn't realize every replay has to have a theme song. Totally annoying with the greatness..

I was 14 and at Santa Anita with my dad when i noticed Secretariats silks in the post parade for the Malibu Stakes. I bet my allowance ($5) on Romantic Lead to win. I was being as hysterical as any teenager could be when he hit the wire in front with The Shoe riding him. A woman asked me if i wanted to take a picture with the horse in the winners circle and i gladly accepted. She ordered a picture for me and i picked it up the following weekend. I never saw the woman again, but she left an lasting impression with me. R.I.P Ms. Penny...

Wow! I was at Aqueduct during Easter break 1979 and bet a horse named Council Rock. I was 17 and the only reason why I bet him was he was in the Meadow Stablw colors. I believe he paid $56. In those days that paid for my clam chowder and meatball hero!

So sad for her to go. She worked tirelessly to keep Secretariat's memory alive and as n advocate for the thoroughbred racehorse well into her 90's. I attended the Secretariat Festivals every year and it was always great to see her. She was a classy, smart lady. It is the end of an era. She was and always will be loved by thousands. RIP Penny.
