E2 measures the time to 4fs in sprints, and LP covers the rest. Bris doesnt show an E1 rating in 5f races. When a 5f race has only e2 and LP, does the E2 measure the 4f time and LP the last furlong?

unless something has changed i'm pretty sure the bris pace figure for both 4 1/2 and 5 f is a 1/4 mile rating that is in the half mile (e2) column.

since it's two points per length at either distance you can just look at the ratings of horses who ran against each other but had different beaten lengths at the 1/4 and 1/2. compare the pace figures it will show what point of call they are for.

My friend uses Equisim and they program a 1/2 mile E2 for those races. How, I don't know.

i printed out mnr for wednesday, september 13.

if you do this and look in the 6th race white lace lady went wire to wire at five furlongs against some of these girls on august 30 in the 5th race.

white lace lady got a 91 pace figure.

go catrina go was 6 1/4, 8, and 14 lengths back at the pace calls and earned a 77...... implying that she was 7 lengths back at whatever point bris is using for 5f races and it looks like the 1/4..... they're extrapolating between the first (3/16) and second (3/8) point of call.

this dream of mine was 2, 4, and 9 lengths back and earned an 85..... six points or 3 lengths off the leader. bris seems to have averaged the 2 and 4 to get a 1/4 mile beaten lengths number of 3.

hope this helps?

Easy at 5f, the stretch call comes at the half mile mark, so you get the time and the lengths back at the exact distance.

It is more tricky at 4.5f and 5.5f. At 4.5f you get the 1/2 mile time for both, but you only get a point of call at 3.5f and the finish at 4.5f. At 5.5f, your points of call come at 3f and 4.5f.

Thanks for the help....so in a 4.5f race, the E2 represents the 1/4mile,2f rating? And then LP covers the last 2.5f?

Also another related question for 5.5 and 6f races. E2 represents the time to 4f....so lp represents the last 1.5 and 2f of those distances?
