I've been using Focus 2000 for the last couple of months and had so-so results using the modeling feature.

I started looking at some of the ratings and became very interested in the "Beta Adjusted Ratings" screen that's accessed through the Speed Ratings/Odds button.

I've found these ratings to be very useful in my betting and they really help me get down to the true contenders (not always favorites). After running some paper trials on these ratings before I bet real money, I've had some very good weekends lately just using these ratings.

The thing is.....I'm not sure what these ratings are. They have "adjusted" ratings and "raw ratings" for the True Contenders. They also have adjusted and raw ratings for the Comp Levels of the contenders.

Does anyone know how these ratings are configured and adjusted. Focus 2000 seems to be a solid product but the manual is atrocious. It gives no real description of how the U-Std & U-Chk ratings are built.

Does anyone with more experience with this program have insight to these questions? I'm especially interested in the Beta Adjusted ratings.
