Barking up the wrong tree. Ratings are way up.

You think a single hilarious sketch from six months ago featuring a dog who's a Trump supporter is an effort by SNL to win a wider audience?

HUH??

Oy. :bang:

Except for the first few skits involving Trump and the first couple about Spicer, The show still sucks. No matter what the ratings say.

All the late night shows have way too much politics. I watch zero of them.

They certainly have found a way to bolster their rating among the liberals.

If these shows just degenerate into half politics and half Jerry Springer, which they are, they will be toast sooner than you think. The shit is just not funny at all anymore. Nobody wants to be boxed in by politics when they are trying to have a good time.

Half agree - the show in Trump's words is "very un-funny" now... except for Alec Baldwin's impersonation of Trump, which is always funny ... I don't care for Baldwin, but he was born for that skit.

Indeed! Cecily Strong I think is a riot. Love that woman! The politics gets old fast though.

What is incredible is that the writers do such a poor job when they have this one crazy politician spoon feeding them material. The same guy even hosted the show once and then decided he didn't like it because they made fun of him.

Easy to feed feeble minds.

I find myself behaving the same way.

I have a Twitter account I use almost entirely to follow basketball news from around the world. I used to follow hundreds of beat and independent basketball writers, basketball bloggers, and advanced stats gurus. After awhile, there was so much political noise on my timeline, I started unfollowing a bunch of them.

If you are a political analyst that's fine.

If you are a basketball writer, I couldn't care less what you think about any of the divisive issues of the day. If I want to read about those subjects, I'll go to the people whose opinion I respect on those subjects. I'm OK if one slips in here or there, but as soon as they make it a pastime, unfollow.

If I am flipping channels and bored I will watch the start of the left spewing garbage late night talk, making a guessing game out if it. First how long will it take them to bash Trump in their monologue that is usually a matter of seconds and how many Trump bashing stories in a row will start the evening? Once those numbers are officially satisfied I switch the channel. If I ever watch the world wide evening network news I do the same thing. It seems unless their is a long running disaster unfolding like Harvey, they will lead off with a Trump bashing story and you will get 2 or 3 more within the 30 minutes. You wonder when they are going to get some new material?

I could not stand Obama, but even I would not watch a variety talk show or news program that centered their whole time slot around bashing him. I think Trump gets ripped on for things no other president has. I am waiting for them to have a news story bashing him for what he eats for breakfast.
