I heard this story on a local sports talk show and couldn't stop laughing. Then I thought:

Nobody could be that cool. Nobody could be that clever. The radio talk show guy must have made it up. So I had to verify that it was true. It was.

Mr Riegel, I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you while you were among us. I have been trying to come up with my final words for the longest time, and nothing seems to work. But now I can stop trying because nothing I can come up with will ever top yours.

A longtime Eagles season ticket holder who died last week at age 56 left behind one final wish in his cleverly-written obit.

"He requested to have 8 Philadelphia Eagles as pall bearers so the Eagles can let him down one last time."

QUOTE OF THE YEAR!

As a lifelong New York Giants fan, if Big Blue doesn't make the playoffs and the Eagles do, I'll cheer on Philly to win the Super Bowl in Mr. Riegel's memory.

Fly, Eagles, fly on the road to victory!

Gotta love it.

Mel Brooks took that proverb up a notch talking about what is funny.

If you see someone you don't know, slip on a banana peel, fly through the air, then land on his head, drawing blood -THAT IS FUNNY! If YOU have a hangnail, that is a TRAGEDY.
