Bad break, trailed the field early, running on the outside, but still got it done, Zenyatta-style.

I just wanted to make sure it wasn't another Kelly Breen George Hall horse (Rapid Redux)who got away from them and went on to win 20 races in a row!

Can you imagine the price you would have got on the "in the running" on BetFair after the brake & for most of the race? I can see it being anywhere from 20-1 to 100-1.

Didnt see any mention of it anywhere, but something tells me odds would have been lower than that

Anyone know?

no , I think the race went fast and the final fraction was fast as hell.

Randwick was like a paved highway; the ground had no give to it. They set three track records during the program.

I had Winx running a 1:19 flat 7f, considering she was 4 lengths back at the break, Randwick has no runup, and conversion from metric to mile.

I also had Winx running a 21 2/5 final quarter. Wind and hard surface aside, that is some genuine running.

Admittedly a class horse. And the horse beat stablemate by a head or more.

#7 Winx API $ 776

#8 Foxplay API 140

#5 Inference API 106

I don't call that competitive field.

This is a wild over-estimation. Take a second & take a guess as to what the highest in-play odds were on Arrogate during the running of the Dubai World Cup?

Answer to that question is 2-1.

19 in a row it is, ran down a loose leader late while well clear of the rest.

I've watched it several times already. She's amazing. She's so smart, she knows when to turn it on, when to really roll. A joy to watch!!!

What's amazing about this horse is that I think she was 70-80 percent of what she usually is. She was off the bridle and was really being scrubbed on to get into the race. Once she wanted to turn it on, it was over. Incredible.

Watching the replay Winx powers to the lead in the lane, yet Bowman geared her down right after hitting the wire,is that a good idea generally.
See this often a horse draws off and gets shut down early instead of gradually slowing down, can this affect some horses future performances[Winx excluded].

Agreed. She was all out in the previous two races, but it looked like she was coasting home in this one.

what a brilliant horse. Pulling her up right before the wire caused her to change leads and go into the path of the 2nd place horse after the wire, they could have clipped heals-not wise by the jock IMHO

Almost all Aussie jockeys are all very fond of easing up after they "hit the front" a little before the wire. I suppose they think helping the horse save something for the next time. Maybe it does help the horse, but it kind of bugs me. Luke Nolen famously almost over did it at Ascot with Black Caviar.

Almost blew it. I would have been a pissed off owner if I would have lost that race.
