For those of you not familiar with the metric system (I think that's all of us) 100kg is about 220 pounds. Because Japan still suffered from a post-war rubber shortage, that original suit was made mostly from concrete.
He was a stunt man who had mostly played guys dying spectacularly in Samurai films before Godzilla.
The original film (not the American version with scenes featuring Raymond Burr added) still stands out. Netflix still had it under "Gojira" a few years back. Worth a watch if you've never seen it. Pay attention to the music. Great strings. And think about the poor guy sweating inside that 200 lb. suit.
