At 2000 yards it's about 115ft probably around 250-300ft.

To the second question no they wouldn't hold over they would adjust their scope using a chart so they would still put the crosshairs on the target.

His sights probably are rigged for the distance. He puts his sights on the target......the drop is compensated by the sight setup. But at that distance who the hell knows .....they are freelancing.I've used an M-60 out to about 12-1300 meters.....back in the day. That was winging it a little.

You're zero is going to have to be way the hell out there as even some of the most expensive optics on the planet won't let you screw a turret down far enough.

A lot of them these days had the grid pattern on the reticle too so a shooter knows if he needs to adjust for a Drop and Windage he just pics a different crosshair on the grid.

If I remember right, those rounds were 6 bucks a shot for the cheap stuff. And that was years ago.

That would be 11,088 feet or 1,108 feet every second.
But in a vacuum a bullet falls 88 ft/sec/sec.
In air that would be different and the bullet would fall at a terminal velocity of 300 feet per second.
I'm not an engineer but if I were guessing he'd have to fire maybe hundreds of feet over the target's head. Wow! That sounds impossible.
Perhaps an engineer or physicist here could give us a much better answer?

Yeah its going to be at least 200+ feet.

To answer the second part I'll give a more practical example though of how they are adjusting for the drop. I deer hunt with a AR-15 chambered in a .450 Bushmaster (essentially a giant handgun round). I typically zero my gun to be a couple of inches high at 100 yards but in turn at 300 yards if I need to shoot that far my round is going to drop 24 inches. My optic on my gun is a 1/4 MOA or basically a 1/4 inch at 100 yards (.5 for 200, .75 for 300, etc). So if I'm shooting a deer at 300 hundred yards I just turn my scope down about 32 clicks (24/.75) line up the cross-hairs and squeeze away.
