Picks for Del Mar Thursday:
R1 #3 Mountain Mustang-Done in by pace duel at a higher level last time out. Drops to more realistic level and is more likely to establish a clear lead. Expecting a better effort today.
R3 #1 French Rebel-Another Spawr runner I like today. Dueled most of the way with another class dropper in his first off a layoff. Pace scenario looks more favorable today, and should get a better trip this time. Very capable jock with early speed types up today.
R4 #4 Flying Elvis-Showed decent early speed on the turf in debut. I’m thinking turf was not a good idea. Drops and gets Flores, has a couple of nice drills since. Expecting a better effort today.
