I remember reading a chess magazine long ago where a reader
asked a grandmaster in a question and answer column :
I want to get into chess because I want to make money.
The grandmaster's response: You don't play chess for
money. You play chess for the LOVE of the game.

Also long ago , I spoke to Mark Cramer over the phone and
told him something similar. He stated you don't
play the horses for money. You do it for the LOVE
of the game. You can talk to any professional
horseplayer and they will all tell you that the amount
of time and energy you put into racing is just not
worth the monetary return.

In the case I am in for the wrong reason. Plus I like the outdoors.
