Anyone know where you can order Patriot bonds online?

you sure these are the way to go? I don't know much about Gov't bonds, what is the usual spread between inflation and 5yr rate?

Well, I know it's not the most lucrative investment, but it's solid and it's guaranteed. And when you speak of a child's college fund, I feel better knowing there is little risk.

Also, if you use the bonds for education, they are tax free.. How many investments return twice the investment with zero taxes..

you're right, I assume as well this won't be where the whole kitty goes. I have been thinking about this type of stuff as well...I want to set something up for my sisters kids....

I think we are going to go with bonds strictly for college, 529 plan for college and a Roth IRA for us and for emergencies..
