First click $30,000 bet to win on #5 Fourstar Crook, race 4 at Belmont on Memorial Day. #5 and #7 both pay about the same in the pick 3.

The big bettor must have been looking at the THA computer pick. :D

I just wouldn't bet all that on a Yielding track. He won by only 3/4 of a length too.

Pretty sure any software worth anything would have had that horse on top. :)

Chad Brown Hedge Fund has a lot of money to invest. :3x:

I agree that after the scratches he looked very good on paper in almost all pps. Still the $30,000 first click bet caught my attention. The least favored of the three Chad Brown's made him work for the win though and finished second. The $50,000 bet to show was a strange scaredy-cat hedge bet if that's what it was--returned $52,500.

It is more like everyone knew. Not much of a surprise when a Chad Brown horse pays $4.40

I agree that it's not a surprise for a Chad Brown horse to pay $4.40, but take away the one $30,000 win bet and he pays $7.00 as the second favorite to the Chad Brown horse that went off at 2.15:1

It was just an betting incident that, for me, added some entertainment to a very formful blah kind of day at Belmont. :)

Good point, this is what the game has come to. Chad Brown vs Chad Brown-which short price horse to key. By the way,did you notice how these horses were played in the double?

The winner :5:, and the 3rd place horse :7: paid about the same in the pick 3 ending in that race, but the :5: was much shorter in the double.
