Does everyone work in downtown Houston?

The one time I was there; I stayed near IAH and Aldine (near the mall near IH 45 and the 8). The commute to downtown Houston down IH-45 was like the drives on the 405 here in Los Angeles!

Would better public transportation help those who work in one place, i.e. downtown Houston?

I live to the north of Ralph. The commute from Conroe/Woodlands to Houston is horrible and has been for decades. Its 8 and 10 lanes for the most part and they need 20. If there's an accident, forget it, you'll be late and just a fact of life. No money would put me in that 5 days a week. Its totally nerve racking and people are impatient and drive like lunatics. I've been stuck in it though not for work purposes. It's not a pleasant adventure even once let alone routinely.
