In Race One, I'm looking at (in no particular order of preference): :2: PIMM'S CUP. Early Speed. :3: SHADOW SURPRISE, a first-time starter who's receiving betting-public attention. :5: THE BROWN BOMBER (Joe Louis). Early speed who cuts back a half-panel. :8: ACT SURPRISED. Highly-priced first-time starter; could surprise. :9: SECRET SCHOLAR. Many tries. Has faced better.

Solely on looks in the paddock, I like :8: ACT SURPRISED.

:4: TILL WE MEET AGAIN catches my eye as he gallops on the track. Could he get part?

:6: HIGHLAND SKY looks frisky and animated on the track. :5: IL SEGRETO (IT. = "secret"). has a shot of hitting the board.
