If you can get the right dose with the right kid I can see it working. Given that not much else is working, why not give it a shot?

I'm not trying to sidetrack this thread, but I've had many discussions about the cause(s) of the alarming rate at which kids are diagnosed with autism in the last 10yrs or so.

It's epidemic...
do you think this is a misdiagnosis (or worse...) ?
do you think our environmental conditions or dietary habits (what kind of crap is actually in the food) contribute to this ?

Michele Malkin had a similar article on weed helping her kid, not autism but...

Yeah, I don't know if they are diagnosing more or it's environmental. I have heard of an autism sprectrum with asperbers at one end and more serious cases at the other.

Up until 25 years ago, the majority of American families only had contact with a GP.I think a lot of kids with autism were just considered slow, strange or a little crazy. So the number is probably the same, just the reporting is more accurate today.
I've just had a disturbing thought. Kids with autism require a lot of supervision to see that that don't harm themselves or others. If a large number of children with the illness were just thought to be normal but "different" many could have died due to misadventure at a very early age.
Now I need a toke.

Weed - who the HELL is the government to tell anyone what they can and can't smoke for whatever reason?
