Don't know if somebody posted this. I didn't see anything. I was sad to hear this news. Especially since it is coming out that it was a suicide. Unbelievable. By all accounts he played a very upbeat and powerful show on Wednesday night. I am 44. This guy had the best voice of my generation. Range was incredible. Related a lot to him in so many ways. He did a lot of acoustic work on his solo records. And had an affinity for Led Zeppelin which definitely resonates in me. I envision him doing duets with Ella Fitzgerald! They would complement each other nicely! RIP Chris..

Its a shame he had such demons to do that. Soundgarden was arguably the first of the Seattle bands in the 80s. Rest in Peace.

Pretty shocking to see this...as a guitar player myself, this guy's music was a major influence during my younger days...Soundgarden and Audioslave were two of my favs...freakin' sad...

Found on the bathroom floor with a band around his neck? An unusual place to try and hang yourself, if he was indeed trying to kill himself, which might be a suspect notion.

Almost sounds like it might be shades of Michael Hutchence or Robin Williams...

Family has released a statement that they do not believe he realized what he was doing. He had a prescription for Ativan and spoke to his wife after the show slurring his speech and informed her he had taken an extra pill or two. She then got in touch with bodyguard who forced entry to room and found him.

Was always one of me and my dad's favorites. Had never got to see him while my dad was alive due to their breakup and then my dad's health issues later on. Had tickets to go see them for the first time next week.

Shows how old and out of it I am. I never heard of the guy or the groups he sang with. Still sad when anyone goes to that extreme to try and solve their problems.:rip:

Very sad news.

I was going to post something yesterday, but i didn't think we had any Soundgarden fans on here, i guess i was wrong.

I know he battled with depression at times, but i never thought it would come to this, such a talent, such a loss.

I remember the first time i saw the Jesus Christ Pose video, i was floored, and hooked.... loved this band.

...

Not to go way off topic (RIP Mr. Cornell), but I was in the car dealership a couple of weeks ago waiting to get repairs and this gal rolls in with her radio bumping. I'm singing along surprised I know the words to anything some hip gal was playing. She gets out and I make a comment about the song - Children's Story by Slick Rick - and she says "Oh yeah, this Oldies station on Sirius has some great old songs." I really didn't know what to say to that.

Pace I can play some guitar as well. Check this version of this out. Dave has a lengthy intro. This sounds great on acoustic though. Man this guy can sing.
